How do I know if I’m Ready to Throw?
Whether rehabbing after injury/surgery, preparing for a season, or trying to stay healthy during a competitive stretch, there’s a lot to consider in keeping an arm at it’s best. We’ve compiled numerous resources that are rooted in evidence and data to ensure that the answer to this question is easy.
Thrower’s Readiness Inventory (TRITM)
The TRI was created as a comprehensive assessment for the throwing athlete to determine one’s functional capacity to return to throwing after injury. The TRI was built on the strongest evidence available in scientific literature alongside decades of actual practice and can be helpful in clinical decision making.
Thrower’s Return to Sport after Injury (T-RSI) Confidence Scale
The Thrower’s RSI is a scale that assesses psychological readiness of the thrower. Pain and injuries can dramatically affect an individual, even if not immediately apparent. This scale was engineered off of the same framework as Webster et al. (2008) created for the ACL and lower extremity injuries. The Thrower’s RSI is provides the clinician with reliable information that may prove highly valuable in their patient’s journey with returning to sport.
